HORSES, PIGS, DOGS, CATS and TWO MICE - An Artwork Inspired by Jenny Foster

Image
I'm not sure just how much my artwork can be compared to that of Jenny Foster, but I just love her paintings. I think my grass area should have been left black as seen in some of Jenny's artwork. I think I might reattempt this artwork but for now it can stay like this.    Feel free to use my idea and change it up to suit your needs. Nothing is ever set in concrete.... I got lots of ooohs and aaahs when I showed my students so it might work out ok......     HOW TO:       I printed all the resource information sheets off and created a little booklet x 30. It is a much easier way of getting all the information to the students in one bundle.   ARTWORKS BY JENNY FOSTER:

PAINTED AND PATTERNED ARTWORK - Inspired by Heather Galler.

NOTE: I took a pic of the original painting and imported it into Photoshop. I manipulated the colours, then used the image to create my own artwork. I was running out of time to reproduce the tiger cub as a painting again.            This artwork would work with students from Years 1 and 2  up to and through High school students. The older the student, the better their skills will be and, therefore, the patterning can become more intricate.    I think this artwork will work well with younger students as they tend to paint in simple ways and with simple shapes. This will make the creation of black marker shapes and patterns much easier. Really looking forward to giving this artwork a go....

GRAFFITI TIGER inspired by Dean Russo - For Years 5 and 6 (and older)

Inspiration Artwork: "Young Lion" by Dean Russo     OPTIONAL IDEA:    Originally to save myself some time, I took a pic of the original cool colour painting, imported it into Photoshop and manipulated the colours.    I then printed the images out and added the graffiti symbols and decoration onto the image.    This could be a nice idea for older students with skills in using software to manipulate their original painting. Stencilled symbols can be created using filters, etc, making the artwork a digital creation as opposed to employing traditional hands-on art making art practices. NOTE: I used the image above to create my own artwork as I was running out of time to reproduce the tiger cub as a painting again.      I think my primary school students (Years 5 and 6) will enjoy creating this artwork. It has layers of media and starts with a painting. Kids love to paint and t...
