  These artworks were created after I realised that the students had an opportunity to express creatively how they felt about the effects of covid19. Its a modified artwork from Microscopic Monsters first posted on  3rd February, 2018.   We had many discussions about how it affected their lives and how their lives had changed. From simple, daily routines to important family routines like not being able to visit their grandparents, take family holidays and not being able to just live life normally. I love what they did. I will use this resource with my Kindy kids to teach them how to draw a lion's head. We will then complete it using wax and white oil pastels with diluted black ink to create resisted ink wash.   I have posted a previous artwork using the same media with a lion and lioness but I think using the directed drawing approach will be better for younger students. Being a "directed" drawing will  enable kids of varying degrees of learning disabilities to participate in the artmaking experience without feeling overwhelmed by the challenge.   I have been working with a group of primary school-aged students who have varying degrees of autism and have found they respond super well to direction drawing.  So I thought I would share the artworks they create and resources I used. I found several websites on Pinterest that provide free-to-use resources, so I used those and made some very minor adjustments while working with the students.   This is a modified artwork that had to hastily put together but I think the kids enjoyed making an artwork that took a whole school day, had a really cool eye and allowed them to use their imagination.
