DRAGON FLIES (Cross Curriculum K-6 to Science - The Living World)

  I have been working on ideas for 2023 artworks, ensuring I match them with cross-curriculum links (Visual Arts and Science) and to the Course Content in Science (The Living World) I have looked at the Stage Outcomes and selected specific objectives that teachers can connect with. This is an artwork that can be used in Science: The Living World. Early Stage 1: Outcome  STe-3LW-ST:   explores the characteristics, needs and uses of living things Stage 1: Outcome  ST1-4LW-S -  describes observable features of living things and their environments (characteristics of a dragonfly - insect study) Stage 2: Outcome  ST2-4LW-S:   compares features and characteristics of living and non-living things (compare a dragonfly to a helicopter, wing movements, head and large eyes, capacity to hover in position, etc) Stage 3: Outcome  ST3-4LW-S:   examines how the environment affects the growth, survival and adaptation of living things.
