DRAGON FLIES (Cross Curriculum K-6 to Science - The Living World)

I have been working on ideas for 2023 artworks, ensuring I match them with cross-curriculum links (Visual Arts and Science) and to the Course Content in Science (The Living World)

I have looked at the Stage Outcomes and selected specific objectives that teachers can connect with.

This is an artwork that can be used in Science: The Living World.

Early Stage 1: Outcome STe-3LW-ST: explores the characteristics, needs and uses of living things

Stage 1: Outcome ST1-4LW-S describes observable features of living things and their environments (characteristics of a dragonfly - insect study)

Stage 2: Outcome ST2-4LW-S: compares features and characteristics of living and non-living things (compare a dragonfly to a helicopter, wing movements, head and large eyes, capacity to hover in position, etc)

Stage 3: Outcome ST3-4LW-S: examines how the environment affects the growth, survival and adaptation of living things.

RESOURCE IMAGES:
I found images of dragonflies on Pinterest. I selected images that gave a closeup view of the dragonfly's head/eye, some body parts ant the wings. It was just a personal preference. I will include them.
