The Art Lady

Hello Everyone,    I must apologise for my absence and lack of posting. Back in September,  I had a partial knee replacement and I am still recovering from that.     Doing physio, learning to walk properly again, waiting for the nerves to wake up, etc.    I will be back at work soon and I will begin adding posts of what the kids have done in my absence.   I have missed them, their noise, their arguing with each other and the messes they make in the artroom. I have really missed being around them but, most of all, I have missed their hugs!!!    Thank you to those who have taken the time to view my posts. I hope you were able to find something that was helpful.    A big thank you to my new followers and the followers who have continued to stick with me...… xxxxx

This artwork didn't quite turn out how I expected but the students enjoyed the processes involved and loved their artworks.....

I love these owl drawings even though some students had trouble applying the oil crayon (pastel) as lines rather than simply colouring in. Once they got the idea, they all worked really well.     Here are some of the completed artworks but there are more to come. I took pics to show you the "artworks in progress" where students where completing the background.

I am so happy with these wonderful artworks. It is shame the pics don't show you just how gooood they are. Outstanding work from students who are only 8 and 9 years old. The class loved making their prints and learning about printmaking. I added 5 more STEPS -  Step: After the print is detailed and colour is added, trim around the edge of the black outline border leaving about .5cms of white. This little white border adds to the overall effect.  It defines the print. Without it, the artworks appears lacking in something. Step: Glue the print to an A4 piece of coloured cardboard. It is important to select a colour that compliments the colours used in the print. Step: Now, select an A3 cardboard making sure the colour of this cardboard compliments the A4 colour and the colours in the print. Centralised. Step: Glue the A4 artwork onto the A3 cardboard. Centralised. Step Using a lead pencil, draw the leaves, flowers, etc that are in the print onto the A3 ...
