PRETTY PLATYPUS _Suitable for Stages 1, 2 and 3

Image
My latest teaching position is in a primary school as the Visual arts teacher, and I am loving it. Students in Year 2/3 asked me if they could make an artwork based on a platypus, so I have created something I think they will enjoy. The media used is watercolour paints onto watercolour paper with the platypus outline photocopied on the paper for younger students. Chalk pastels are incorporated into the background with bubbles made using a 1-inch hole punch. Older students in Years 4, 5 and 6 will have Resource Images to draw their own platypus directly onto the watercolour paper. This was a fun artwork to create and I am hoping that time will allow us to create it ourselves and then I can post the results for everyone to see.

LATEST NEWS.....

Hello Peoples....I just wanted to let everyone know that I am taking some time out from teaching and my blog will go quiet for a tiny bit. I will be continuing to create new artworks and posting them, but unfortunately, I won't have student sample artworks to show you. I will be returning to work in 2024 and I am looking forward to that already. Best wishes to everyone who has supported me throughout 2023, and I hope my blog continues to assist you in some way. Thank you to everyone......
