The Art Lady

Earlier I created a digital artwork that used Photoshop 7. After some thought, it occurred to me that most teacher would not know how to use Photoshop. So, I decided to find some apps that could be installed on iPads so students of any age could create a cyborg self portrait.    I found two apps that are FREE (the best kind of apps) and they are very easy to use. The first app, NEW EYES, will allow students to change the shape and colour of their eyes. There are 5 categories within the program that have an array of eyes - Animals, Zombies, Robots, Witchcraft and Movies. Kids will love this app.    The second app is called ROBOT FACE and it has a selection of objects that can be used to create the cyborg face. It is very easy to use but its only drawback is that it does not have an undo button. This artwork is a variation on the previous "majestic mammmal" artwork. I am sure there are other areas within each Science Stage where this artwork could fit. If not, its just a fun thing that kids woukd love to do. * STAGE ES1 - I would do this artwork with kindy kids simply because is would be fun. * STAGE 1 Science -identify that living things live in different places that suit their needs (ACSSU211) (Where do lions and lionesses live? If there is one animal that I know kids love to draw, its lions. So, I thought I'd create an artwork called "Majestic Mammals" that will enable them to do that plus fit in with the K-6 syllabus Science.    I am super happy with how these artworks turned out. We started to run out of time towards the end, so I had to quickly modify what we did. Some students had to leave off colouring in the background around the feathers but I don't think it diminished from the appearance of the artwork at all. Some didn't get to apply the metallic markers and I like those artworks as well.    Well done to the students of Year 5/6P at Windsor South, NSW, Australia....
