TYPOGRAPHIC FROG
This is an artwork that helps students to understand TONE. They use collage to create tonal variations with newsprint. Coloured typographic paper is used to collage the background. The subject of the artwork is a frog which is printed for students (lesson prep) on A3 size paper as a monochromatic image.
I think students will like creating this artwork as collage is such a hands-on technique and students only have to follow the tones that appear on the photocopied A3 image. They do have to make artistic decisions and they use colour on the frog with Posca pens (they just love Posca pens!!) as stippling.
