PRETTY PETS - a quick artwork.

   This is a really quick little artwork. Credit for the artwork that inspired me goes to Sedef Yilmabasar. Its something I would use for when students finish their set work early or "time out" is needed by a student. it might even work for a casual/substitute teacher.

    This is a great project. We did something very similar and called it shattered drawing. Kids loved it in the past and was one of their favorites, but not so much this year. Thank you so much for sharing. I love the idea of using a pet portrait.

    I just finished PRETTY PETS - a quick artwork, and it turned out so adorable! The bright colors and playful designs really capture the essence of our furry friends. While working on it, I couldn’t help but think about the fun we had at the hot tub time machine costume party last year, where everyone dressed as their favorite characters. Both the artwork and the costumes brought so much joy and creativity! What inspires your artwork?

CLAY WORK - Pinch Pot Monster - Years 3 and 4

   Later on this week, I will be doing an all-day art lesson with a Year 4 class. I have taught this class many times, they are a great bunch of little people and we have a great rapport.    It is because of this that I decided to do clay work with them, teaching them the basic construction techniques - pinch pots, slabs and coils.    I saw on Pinterest, the work of Dean DeRosso (hope I spelt that right) and immediately though of my Year 4 kids. They will love making their own little clay monsters.    I have made up some teaching resources with information to help the students better understand how to make a pinch pot and included an example of a monster created by Dean DeRosso.    In case we finish up early, I have also made a simple art appreciation/evaluation worksheet and a drawing worksheet. TEACHING RESOURCE - CLAY WORK BOOKLET - BASIC INFORMATION

   I put together a booklet for the staff of the primary school I work in. They were wanting to learn about clay and some ideas of what they could do with their students.    Following are pages from the booklet in jpeg format. Feel free to use it or any part of it. I collected information and ideas from Pinterest and there is no intention of claiming any of the ideas or sculpture works as my own. Full credit goes to those talented and creative people who created them, including Kimmy Cantrell .  I have included my own clay work relief sculpture plate at the end......               I will be adding more ideas to this booklet as I come across them....

ELEMENTS of ART - Worksheet Booklet for Kindy, Year 1 and Year 2 students

    I have accepted a temporary position in a primary school teaching visual arts two days this year, so I decided to put together some little worksheet/booklets for my students.    Some of the worksheets are information only, while others are interactive where students can show their understanding by completing simple little tasks that relate to that particular element.    Until the Term gets into swing (which I'm sure will not take long), these little booklets will fill in nicely. Feel free to use them They are in jpeg format. I included some literacy and some expressive writing opportunities. Some of the pages were created by me, others are combinations of images from free-to-use worksheets, free-to-use images and free clip art found on Pinterest.
