THANK YOU EVERYONE

I am on my way to achieving 100,000 views for my blog. I am thrilled and amazed over this as I never expected my work to have such interest. The number of views is pretty small compared to other sites I have seen but it makes it all worthwhile for me.    Thank you everyone for taking the time and a big thank you to your comments. Please if you have any questions or requests, dont hesitate to ask.  Oh, and one little problem. I am having trouble being able to go directly your blogs or sites when you ask me to. Quite likely it is me as I am not all that tech savvy, so if anyone has any suggestions on how we can contact each other personally, I would appreciate that. I thought via emails but that may be understandably too personal for some people.    Anyway, back to work......xxxx

CHALK PASTEL DRAWING - Cheetahs

Image
After the stunning results from a previous accidental artwork (Directed Drawing - Cheetah), I decided I had better produce instructions and a sample artwork, showing what was done.    I forgot to include Step 8 which was to outline the original drawing with black charcoal pencil and to add some whiskers with white posca pen.

DIRECTED DRAWING - CHALK PASTEL- Cheetahs

Image
In a mad rush to come up with something for a class of students, I presented a directed drawing, showing the kids how to draw a cheetah. They loved it and created beautiful artworks.     I am still kicking myself for not having my iPad or phone with me so I could take some pics.    Anyway, I still have to complete my own sample artwork which is in progress but this should be enough information to get you started if you want to se it. Once the image is created, students could paint it, use oil pastels, colouring pencils or whatever suits your needs as the teacher.    Students love directed drawing as it creates a sense of control and greatly increases their confidence levels.

GELLI PLATE PRINTING - Mixed Media (Quokka as subject matter)

Image
I have always wanted to do gelli plate printing as I love printmaking, especially monoprinting. I made my own gelli plate using a recipe I found on Pinterest, experimented and created an artwork I think students will enjoy. I have included the recipe in this post.    My artwork shows two layers of printing but for younger kids I think one layer monoprinting would be enough. Older students will have the ability to understand how a multi-layered image can be produced.     Media used: Quokka drawing - l ead pencil, eraser and black maker. Monoprint -   acrylic paint. Artwork -  black charcoal pencil, whit charcoal pencil (optional), coloured chalk pastels.  I haven't presented this artwork to students yet but will do so when the opportunity arises. Any animal or subject matter could be used with this artwork.

POP ART SELF PORTRAIT - Digital Mixed Media Artwork - All Instructions

Image
I first posted this artwork back in October 2018 but I have had a few requests, asking how this artwork created, could I provide some instructions.    My blog has over 250 posts so I am not surprised that people might be finding it hard to find what they need. Sorry.     I also created a digital artwork that I created with a Kindergarten class (ages 5-6) that I posted on 4/8/19. The title of the artwork  - TERM 2 - ES1 Kindergarten - History Program - Personal and Family Histories. If this title is placed in the search bar, you will be able to access it.
