MONOCHROMATIC PAINTING - Octopus
A new artwork to start off the return to school for staff and students after lockdown. Stay safe everyone......
I want to acknowledge that, apart from the painting I created myself, I am not in any way attempting to claim the the work of others
as my own.
This lesson has an emphasis of teaching students about tones, tints and shades in painting and how an artwork can be created using only one.
I found an excellent teaching resource on Pinterest that explains how a tone, tint and shade are created.
This information is printed on the back of the
Resource Octopus Images that students will use.
INSTRUCTIONS:
The decision to add black outlines and then an opposing colour outlines are all optional. The degree of completion of the artwork is really at the discretion of the teacher.
With younger students I usually include black outlines to define their artwork, its something I have found that they like to do. "Makes it look real".
Adding an additional outline in a contrasting colour is more for artistic reasons.
