STUDENT ARTWORKS - Year 5/6 - Stage 3 GEOGRAPHY CONTENT SYLLABUS Year 5/6
This artwork is fast turning into one of those "never fails to please" artworks. Today, I presented the artwork to a Year 5/6 combination class and they loved it.
I demonstrated how to blend the colours (paint) together using the "wet-on-wet" technique. It enabled many of the students to take their painting skills to a more advanced stage. they called the technique "the rainbow style" but we all knew what we were talking about.
The motivation level increased dramatically when students began to paint. Many explained that they felt like they were painting like a real artist. I was pleased to know that a simple little demonstration could have such a positive effect.
This class had begun an in depth study of Thailand and it was during the lesson that I realised I could have incorporated some design icons associated with the art of Thailand into their artworks.
