PAINTED PINCH POT MONSTER Year 4 - CLAY WORK - Teacher Sample Sculpture
Year 4 students are now ready to paint their pinch pot monsters. They have been drying for about 3 and a half weeks. I painted mine tonight to show the students the type of painting technique they will be using.
I wanted the students to use this dabbing technique so that they could start to build upon their art practice in the different ways paint can be applied to a surface. It is also a really simple way of blending colours and creating tones without having to premix them.
Students will also be incorporating some dry brushing with metallic paint.
This is my monster and I will create another post showing the students work.....

I applied a layer of all purpose sealant to protect the work. It also enhanced the colours, especially the gold metallic dry brushed paint.
