ANALYSING AN ARTWORK / MY ARTWORK - Stage 1, 2 and 3 - Worksheets
As part of the programming I am doing this year for my school, I have created worksheets that students will use to learn how to analyse artworks.
In particular, I will be using the worksheets to write about their own artworks. Outcomes for the Appreciation component of the K-6 Visual Arts Syllabus are completed when using these worksheet.
Feel free to use them or modify them to meet your needs.
The images provided are in jpeg format as this is the only way I can get the worksheets loaded.

EARLY STAGE 1 - Kindergarten.
This worksheet is very simple. It asks students to describe the artwork. The teacher would write the words on the whiteboard and the kindy kids would copy them onto the worksheet. This worksheets is also about literacy skills - spelling and descriptive words.

This worksheet is again more advanced and is based loosely on the type of analysis work done in Stage 4 , year 7. I wanted to have the students thinking and writing about their artworks using the four steps of describe, analyse, interpret and decide. Their writing should become more sophisticated in the manner is which they address set questions.
In our art Room we have a Word Wall which has all sorts of words that are subject specific. Actually, I have art words all over the Art Room on every wall so students can learn the word and what is means. Students are also using their knowledge of the Elements of Art.

This worksheet is the same as that for Stage 2 but my expectation on the types of written responses is much higher. Students will be given an example of the type of answer they should be writing.
Students can refer to the Word Wall for art specific words to help them write informed responses.
