STUDENT ARTWORKS - STAGE 2/3 Year 4 and 5 GEOGRAPHY CONTENT Place: Indonesia Artwork: Komodo Dragon
Again, this post is incomplete, but again I wanted to show you just what the students have done so far. Two lessons to go.
Students found it difficult at times to apply the paint to create tonal gradation. We used the wet-on-wet technique which some students could handle quite easily. We also used fingers to blend white into black to create tones and some students found this easier.
students really did have to create their own technique and build upon their art practise. It was a challenge, one that I think the student met quite successfully.
Please note that the artwork is a little different to the one presented in an early programming post. It sort of evolved as we went along.

They are looking pretty good so far.........
Students are creating drawings of the stinking corpse lily to collage onto the artwork. The flowers will be cut out and glued onto the artwork, with some petals breaking the format.

Zoom in to see the application of white and black charcoal pencils. Students formulated their own techniques when applying the charcoal to enhance tones created with paint.
Detail showing the application of black and white charcoal.
