STUDENT ARTWORKS - Possums

I had to come up with an artwork really quickly for a Year 2 class. So I modified one artwork ( Possums in Charcoal), printed up just one of the possum Resource Images onto brown thin cardboard and students completed the artwork using black and white watercolour pencils, some white posca pen and colored chalk pastel background. We talked about the TEXTURE of fur and how lines can be used to create that texture. We also looked at the DIRECTION of fur and how it grew on the possum.

I am super impressed with the end result as it all happened so quickly and I was worried that my idea might have been too high order and above their expected artistic abilities but they proved my wrong, so wrong.

Well done to the students in Year 2 at Jordan Springs Public.......
