SELF PORTRAIT using an ACETATE OVERLAY - ES1 History: Personal and Family History
I remember using acetate overlays when I was doing my Uni courses, so the technique has been around for a very long time (which sounds like I am old).
Students will love doing this artwork as it starts off with them doing a drawing on acetate, using their friend's face. Nothing like drawing on your friend's face with a black permanent marker to get the motivation levels up.
I think this artwork would work really well with Kindergarten kids when they study History: Personal and Family History. Making a self portrait, collaging the background but then writing things about themselves onto the area around the portrait.
**Who the people in their family are, where they were born and raised and how they are related to each other (ACHHK001)
However, this artwork would be fun for students of any age and not necessarily linked to any particular area of study.
