ROBOT MASK

This artwork is great fun.....I created robot masks with my Year 8 students. I did not write the program, a colleague had that honour. Its a fantastic program. I will show you only my sample mask.....
I made my own papier mache from a Youtube video. The stuff was easy to make, easy to use and dried to the consistency of concrete.
 
 
Students had to create a design of their mask before they could start. The design had to include materials that they would add to the mask as decoration. For example, plastic hose, LED lights, etc. I did get some masks with LED lights!!!

The base of the mask is a papier mache mould that we got for all of our students. Art supply store.

   I put together a booklet for the staff of the primary school I work in. They were wanting to learn about clay and some ideas of what they could do with their students.    Following are pages from the booklet in jpeg format. Feel free to use it or any part of it. ELEMENTS of ART - Worksheet Booklet for Kindy, Year 1 and Year 2 students

    I have accepted a temporary position in a primary school teaching visual arts two days this year, so I decided to put together some little worksheet/booklets for my students.    Some of the worksheets are information only, while others are interactive where students can show their understanding by completing simple little tasks that relate to that particular element.    Until the Term gets into swing (which I'm sure will not take long), these little booklets will fill in nicely. Feel free to use them They are in jpeg format. I included some literacy and some expressive writing opportunities. Some of the pages were created by me, others are combinations of images from free-to-use worksheets, free-to-use images and free clip art found on Pinterest.

Blind Contour Drawing - Portraiture

   Before you start this artwork, I would suggest you talk to students about the difference between various drawing techniques. I got the idea from Pinterest but modified it to suit my needs.    There are two artworks that can be done. One uses coloured highlighters with black markers, the other uses watercolour paper, watercolour pencils, black markers, metallic markers and oil crayons. Resource Images: I made up a simple laminated worksheet that has four pics of people that the students can use to make their blind contour drawings with.   ARTWORK 1: 1. Using the Resource Images and a lead pencil,  students are to make 3 or 4 blind contour drawings on  A3 drawing paper. 2. Students then trace over ALL LINES with a black marker.
