Futuristic World - Architecture / Gaudi

This is from an old program but it could be modified and updated to suit your needs. SUSTAINABILITY - Curriculum Priority.  This was an artwork that was well received by the boys in the class as they could explore "the gloom and doom".
Students had to create their version of a "utopian' or "dystopian" world. We learnt and talked about different types of utopia and dystopia. I created a Notebook presentation with information and examples ( I cant put it on this blog, wrong format)

We also looked at different types of perspective........
a)  One-point Perspective
b)  Two-point Perspective
c)  Foreshortening
d)  Aerial View Perspective

e)  Bird’s Eye View Perspective

f)   Worm’s Eye Perspective.

ARTWORK PROCEDURE:
1. create a  design for your futuristic city in your artbook inside a 20 x 30cm rectangle. Remember, this is a design so it needs to show what your city will look like, but it should not take hours to complete – it is a design not the artwork. Time required: 2 lessons
2. When you have completed your design, transfer it onto the A3 paper. Use a ruler and 2B  lead pencil. Complete this stage of the artwork with care. Time Required: 1 - 2 lessons.
3. You should practise the techniques you will need to use to complete this task – how to create a vanishing effect with the inks, various tones that can be created with only one colour, etc. The one colour you work with needs to be given considered thought. Time Required: 1 – 2 lessons.
4. The remainder of the class time will involve you working independently to complete the artwork. Time Required: approximately 10 lessons
(At this stage I was attempting to have the students create time management strategies)
